Everything you do with 8Deploy happens in your control panel at app.8deploy.com. That is where you add sites, manage domains, create mailboxes, download backups and see your bill.
Creating your account
- Go to app.8deploy.com.
- Choose Sign in with Google, or create an account with your email address and a password.
- Confirm your email address if you are prompted to.
- Choose your plan (Starter, Pro, Premium or Platinum) and add a payment card.
- You will land on your dashboard, ready to add your first site.
If you sign in with Google, you never need to remember a separate password. If you prefer email and password, use a long, unique password and store it in a password manager.
Which sign-in method should I use?
Both are equally supported. Google sign-in is quickest if your business already runs on Google. Email and password is the right choice if you want the account to be independent of any other provider. You can use whichever address you like for the account, including one that is not on the domain you are hosting.
What to do first
Once you are in, the usual order is:
- Add your website. See Adding your first website.
- Point your domain at us. See Pointing your domain at 8Deploy.
- Create your mailboxes, if you want email on your domain.
- Check your backups are running, which they will be automatically.
Signing in later
Bookmark app.8deploy.com. If you forget your password, use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page and we will email you a reset link. If you no longer have access to the email address on the account, write to [email protected] from an address we can verify against your billing details and we will help you recover it.
Keeping your account safe
Your control panel can change your live websites, so treat it like your bank login. Use a unique password, do not share the login with contractors (invite them properly instead, see Inviting your team), and remove people the day they stop working with you.
The assistant in your control panel can see your actual account and answer about your sites, your plan and your usage. For anything else, email [email protected] and a person will answer.
