Creating a mailbox on your domain

Last updated 14 July 2026

How to create [email protected] addresses, how many you get, and what we set up automatically to keep your mail deliverable.

Email on your own domain is included on every plan. A message from [email protected] is worth considerably more to your reputation than one from a free webmail address.

How many mailboxes do I get?

Creating one

  1. Go to Email in your panel.
  2. Choose the domain.
  3. Choose Add mailbox.
  4. Enter the part before the @, for example sarah or hello.
  5. Set a password. Make it a strong one. Mailboxes are a favourite target for attackers.
  6. Save.

The mailbox is usable immediately. Sign in at webmail, or set it up in Outlook, Apple Mail or your phone. See Reading your email.

What we set up for you

Those three records are what keep your email out of spam folders. Most hosts leave you to work them out yourself. We do it for you when you use our email.

Your DNS must point at us for email to work

Your domain's MX records must point at us. If we manage your DNS, that is done automatically when you create the first mailbox. If your DNS is elsewhere, add the MX records shown in your panel.

Using Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 instead

You can. Keep their MX records in place and do not create mailboxes here for that domain. If you would like us to manage those accounts for you, we offer managed Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 at $10 per seat per month as an add-on.

Deleting a mailbox

Deleting a mailbox deletes the mail in it. Download anything you need first.

Still stuck?

The assistant in your control panel can see your actual account and answer about your sites, your plan and your usage. For anything else, email [email protected] and a person will answer.
