A domain in your panel is how we know that traffic for that name belongs to you: which site serves it, which certificate covers it, and which mailboxes exist on it.
Adding one
- Go to Domains and choose Add domain.
- Type the domain exactly, without
http://and without a trailing slash. For exampleexample.com. - Choose whether to also serve
www.example.com. Almost always yes. We will redirect one to the other so you do not split your traffic or your search rankings. - Choose which site the domain should serve, or create a new site for it.
- Save.
The panel then shows you the DNS values you need and checks continuously whether the domain is pointing at us. Once it is, your TLS certificate is issued automatically, at no cost, and renews itself for as long as the domain stays with us.
Do I buy domains from you?
No. You keep your domain with whichever registrar you already use, and you keep control of it. We host the site and, if you want, we manage the DNS. See What we manage and what your registrar manages.
Plan limits
Your plan includes a number of sites: 1 on Starter, 3 on Pro, 10 on Premium, 25 on Platinum. If you need one more domain than your plan allows, you can either:
- Move up a plan, which also gives you more memory, storage and mailboxes, or
- Add an extra domain add-on at $9 a month, which adds a single domain to your current plan.
If you are adding several, moving up a plan is usually better value.
Parked domains and redirects
If you own several spellings of your name and want them all to land on your main site, add each one as a domain and set it to redirect. Your visitors and search engines end up on the one canonical address, which is what you want.
Removing a domain
Remove it from the Domains page. Do this only after you have changed the DNS elsewhere, or the domain will simply stop working. Removing a domain does not delete the site's files. Deleting the site does.
The assistant in your control panel can see your actual account and answer about your sites, your plan and your usage. For anything else, email [email protected] and a person will answer.
